Bye Bye Scaffold!

So finally the time has come to say good bye to the scaffold. And this is the result!!

December is a good month so far - Cladding and painting finished, Scaffold down, electrical rough in, waterproofing, final roof and gyp-rock due to be completed and also a slim chance of having doors on!!

November November :(

Well wasn't November a crappy month.. We really thought that a lot of things would be finished this month but the exterior has actually gone over into December.

There were 20 days that no one actually worked on our house and even our neighbour stopped her car to ask me what was going on when I was out there one day..

However our cladding is now finally finished as well as the plumbing is ready to go :) hopefully December progresses much better than November as we are also waiting for a letter to come any day to tell us to move out of where we currently are...

October Update!

So for the majority of October we were in Bali having a fantastic Holiday with some friends and celebrating our second wedding anniversary :)

However this has meant that we missed a lot of the progress for the month (not that there actually was much)

The bricks have been finished and the top level cleaned and the roof and gutters have gone on. We are still waiting for the eaves and cladding to be completed which was meant to be done this month but hasnt...

We apparently had workcover on the site at one stage and the SS was pleased to tell me that there were no fines. Good to know no one is going to die whilst building our house lol

We also did our tile selections today before hubby went back to WA for work We had a few upgrades and here is the final selections

These are our bathroom and laundry floor and wall tiles.

The little square that I'm not covering with my hand will be the feature tile for vanities in the bathrooms and the bathroom face/hob as well as the shower niches

This is what we were going to use for the main bathroom feature but it was just too expensive :(

I Forgot!

I completely forgot to post pictures with the roof frame!! Well here they are :D

I am heading out there tomorrow to see if I can get some pictures of the brick work (hopefully they have started :D)

Progress Update

So alot has happened over the past week or so..

Our Frame is finished and we have paid that progress payment.

Our bricks were delivered and were completely different to what we picked so we ended up having them sent back. Only one stressful day and after sending DH out to Austral with a brick from the delivery and the sample brick we originally chose, they agreed it was more than natural variation and agreed to change our brick

Also we have stacker doors!!! However there is one missing which I'm sure they will replace (a bit hard to overlook lol)

It's all happening so quickly! DH has even started to prepare to pack (It's going to be hard as next time he is home we are in Bali and the time after that is Xmas)

2nd Storey!!

Can't believe it! Within a week of the slab been poured we have the second storey frame!!

It's Flying!!!

And we have a Frame!

Holy Crap!!

So our Slab was laid on Wednesday and I drove out there today to take some photos for the hubby (who's still in WA) and low and behold!!

 

 

I couldn't believe my eyes! two days to deliver and start assembling the frame and all of our downstairs windows and sliding doors are there already! So glad I went out there I considered not going because I thought nothing would have happened. How wrong I was

SLAB!!!!

We have a slab!!!!

It was poured on Wednesday with the formwork all stripped the same day! I went out there yesterday to take pictures and there was already someone walking on it

The frame should be delivered Friday to be put up next week :D

Day 14

So today marked the end of our second week since we started building and this is what we have so far

Its progress even though it's a little bit slow... Hoping that the slab is down by next week (going off what the SS says)

Did some shopping over the last week while I've been off with my broken collarbone.. Got a couple of great bargains for the house :D

The Starting Point

So this is my first blog :) I have decided to try and post all the updates from the journey of our first build.. This is the house we are building(minus the fancy rendering - that will come later)
